The attitude toward non-human animals that they are here for us has created human supremacy that allows, and even encourages, the mistreatment of animals. Speciesism is the idea that humans believe they are better than all other animals, just because they are human. It’s similar to racism, which is the belief that one race is superior to another. And sexism, which is the belief that one sex is superior. ANTHROPOCENTRISM SPECIESISM AND ANTHROPOCENTRISM The term “speciesism” is commonly defined as the moral exclusion of those who do not belong to the human species.
